Online Webinar Description

Portrait photography is one of the most difficult areas of photography. It requires interaction with another person. So, it is not only about good technical preparation, but also about the ability to communicate with your model. That’s why not only the end result, but also the atmosphere and comfort of posing in front of a camera are important during the whole process. For many people, posing is a daunting task. But, a photographer should be the one to facilitate it.

Human is the most photographed object in the world. This is because it’s difficult to find a more interesting model. Our facial expressions, gestures and all the characteristics of a given person are so different that they always make it possible to discover new qualities and present them in a portrait.

Portrait is also the most interesting form of photography for the audience. We willingly reach for such photographs, subconsciously perceiving how the particles of character, mystery and charm of the inner model are presented.

Registering appearance is one of the oldest ways of remembering things. Human has always been the centre of attention and that hasn’t changed up until now. It’s the most natural subject which photographers all over the world want to capture with their lenses.

Nowadays, portrait photography covers a full cross-section: from business photography, through family and student portraits, to capturing a person in his or her natural environment. All of them are intended to show the personal qualities of each person photographed.

To achieve this, it’s not enough to simply press the shutter release button. It’s more than that, even when you’re just taking a passport photo. When photographing people, it is very common to mask their defects. You take effort to get the best possible lighting, which makes your model look better than in reality. Thanks to this, portrait photography takes out what’s most beautiful and most interesting about a person.

In addition, it’s impossible to take a good portrait without technical background. The final result is also the outcome of the proper selection of the lens, aperture, and setting of the photographed subject. The same applies to choosing the right composition, framing the scene and going for a bigger or smaller depth of focus. How do you know which of these conditions you should meet 100% and which you can let go? How to choose the equipment, the set and ensure natural atmosphere during a photo shoot? We have compiled this information in our live-streamed webinar.

“The most difficult thing for me is a portrait. You have to try and put your camera between the skin of a person and his shirt...” – Henri Cartier Bresson
